He came to international attention for his role as Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius in the 2000 historical epic film Gladiator, directed by Ridley Scott, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Actor, a Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Actor, an Empire Award for Best Actor and a London Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor and ten further nominations for Best Actor. Russell Crowe New Movie Deal Broken City was recently made official. Crowe will now be adding another blockbuster hit to his very impressive acting resume. Another A list star who will be featured in the upcoming film will be Mark Wahlberg. These two actors should make for an interesting pair.

The plot will be about an ex cop (Wahlberg) who is hired by the mayor (Crowe) due to the mayor suspecting his wife is cheating on him. The ex cop does an investigation and confirms that the wife is indeed cheating. The wife’s fling ends up dead and more information and scandal begins to be exposed.

Filming is schedule to start soon and the movie will hit theaters sometime in the year 2013.
