Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald Officially Married
Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald Officially Married as of this past weekend. The “Twilight” actress and the “American Idol” contestant exchanged vows yesterday in Malibu, California in front of about 100 guests. Before the wedding a source told E!, “He’s [Paul] going to play with his band at the reception. He’s got some surprises for Nikki.” Their engagement was first announced back in June of this year and was a huge surprised for most as the couple was only dating for three months prior. The two met on the red carpet premiere of “Red Riding Hood,” and she introduced herself to him as a fan; from that moment on the two have been inseparable.
Us magazine reported that the two wedding took place in an intimate scenic west coast locale with their family and close friends. Alexa Vega, “Spy Kids” actress, was also the maid of honor for the wedding. The couple told the magazine, “We couldn’t be happier! [We were] surrounded by our family and friends. We’re so glad this day has come!”
Paul indeed participated in the entertainment portion of the reception as planned. He and his bandmates, The Grand Magnolias, played a few songs plus a song that was made especially for his bride. Stefano Langone, fellow “American Idol” alumni, also gave a brief performance at some point of the day. There is no word yet if the newlyweds will be revealing pictures of their big day to the media, but for sure some pictures will make their way onto the web.
Last month a few people were confessed and thought that the two had already wed due to them both wearing wedding rings. Reed’s rep cleared up the confession by telling press, “Nikki and Paul got rings a few weeks ago while in Washington, D.C., because Paul wanted to wear one while he’s on tour and away from Nikki, as a way to feel close to her while they’re apart. They aren’t married yet.”
Plans for the wedding were kept top secret, because the two did not want their location and details to be leaked to the press. The newlyweds wanted to keep the event as private and intimate as they possibly could. It is good to see celebrities find true love even with their busy schedules. There are some celebrities who choose to live and raise a family together, but will not wed until society changes their views on same sex marriage.
