All The Latest On Jaleel White aka ‘Steve Urkel’

Jaleel White who is most known for his role on the 90′s sitcom “Family Matters” where he played the role of Steve Urkel. Since his days of playing the annoying and geeky next door neighbor he has played several roles in varies TV series and films. However, it seems as though no matter what he does he can’t escape ‘Steve Urkel’. Jaleel recently had an interview with People.com where he discussed his desire to be seen as a versatile actor.
“I’m very versatile, but somehow I didn’t earn the tag of being called a versatile actor. I’m still chasing that one Vanity Fair tag that says, ‘This guy’s a versatile actor.’ I accept it. It’s fine. But for me, it’s like what do I have to do to get that [acknowledgement]?”
“I don’t [miss playing Urkel]. I really don’t. I’m not trying to get away from it or anything like that, but I don’t miss the role at all – really. I just want to work. I want my daughter to say, ‘I know what Daddy does,’ not ‘what Daddy did.”
“I just want people to know I haven’t gone anywhere. The passion was gone for awhile, but I’ve got my mojo back.”
Jaleel is said to be playing a role in the sitcom titled ‘Love That Girl!’ along side Fresh Prince actress Tatyana Ali. The two worked together back in 1995 when Jaleel played a role on an episode of Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Aside from that he is also said to be the host of a new Syfy game show called “Total Blackout”. The network released a statement that the show will be filmed in night version while the contestants compete in various tasks in complete darkness. They will be encountering creepy crawlies and lord knows what else.

Jaleel told NBC, “Really the biggest surprise will be the contestants’ behavior, whether they maintain their composure or not, because the darkness brings out something in all of us”. He also said, “This is a show I would watch.”
